Lameness Examinations

Blaircourt Equine Vets have built up a strong reputation for tackling complex lameness investigations with very good results. These appointments are usually quite lengthy, and will start with a full history from you the client as to the exact nature of the problem. It is important that you provide a precise history, including any possible timelines such as onset of lameness in relation to shoeing or different approach to schooling. We will then usually watch the horse walking and trotting in hand, and then move on to lunging or under saddle dependant on the extent and nature of the problem.  Using a variety of techniques from regional and joint blocks, through to x-rays and ultrasound, we will isolate and identify the lameness and discuss possible treatment avenues from that point onwards.
